Nan Ryan's career as a photographer began as a child with a brownie camera. Her early subjects were her pet horses and dogs as well as the chickens on her father's chicken farm. Completing her education, a career and raising a family put her photography on the back burner. More recently, the photography bug bit again during a visit the Redwoods and tidal pools in California.
Nan has traveled extensively as time and funds permit photographing polar bears in Churchill, Humpbacks, Orcas, Harbor seals and bears in Southeast Alaska. Additional trips were to photograph the massive crashing waves in Nova Scotia, Bald Eagles near Quincy, IL and the varied wildlife in her favorite place, Rocky Mountain National Park.
Retired for five years after being involved in the retail world for "too long", Nan now serves as Executive Director of the internationally known Pepsi Little People's Golf Championships, a position held for 26 years. Nan is a Class A member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association and teaches golf during the summers. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and writing about golf and her photography travels.
Nan markets her work in her hometown of Quincy, IL and can be reached at jrgolfer@littlepeoplesgolf.com
