Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

This cow was staying with a very large bull moose during the rut. Both seemed to tolerate the crowd of tourists standing on the bank of the river watching them. The forest adjacent to the river had been burned and was littered with branches and tree trunks. I remember having to walk very carefully to keep from tripping and falling. My illness has progressed in the past few years to the point where I would not be able to safely walk the same route.
