None
of us are guaranteed a life free from a devastating illness such as ALS.
Early in my grade school years, I remember a teacher asking each of
us what we would do if we knew that we would die tomorrow.
Her point was that no one has a guarantee about how long we will
live. I
did not ask to live with a disabling illness, but I can and do choose not to
let the illness stop me from enjoying life.
My personal philosophy is to live each day as if it were my last and
enjoy it to the fullest.
